Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh rhubarb, sliced into ¼ inch pieces
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions:

  1. Wash the rhubarb stalks thoroughly and pat dry, then slice into uniform ¼ inch pieces.
  2. Combine the sliced rhubarb, sugar, and water in a medium stainless steel saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer (avoiding a rolling boil) and cook for 10–15 minutes until the rhubarb is translucent and the liquid reduces to a shimmering, syrupy consistency.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and let the sauce cool for at least 10 minutes to allow it to thicken significantly.
