Ingredients:

  • 2 (14.5 oz / 411g) cans cut green beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) salt

Instructions:

  1. Drain the canned green beans into a colander and rinse under cold running water for 30 seconds. Shake off excess water to ensure the beans sear properly.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and butter. Once the butter is melted and foaming, add the diced onion and sauté for 5–7 minutes until translucent and golden brown.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high. Add the rinsed green beans, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Gently toss to coat.
  5. Cook for 3–5 minutes without over-stirring to allow the beans to develop a slight golden char. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
